"IMMERSION" (2021): THE PARANOIA OF THE OTHER
Several forests surround a lake in southern Chile. You hear the flow of the water, birds singing, the sounds of life. A sailboat crosses the spacious waters, which seem to have no end in sight. Inside, a wealthy family, a father and his two daughters, on their way to their family cabin. The father reminisces nostalgically about his family's vacation at the cabin, while his daughter, Teresa, points out that things were not as beautiful as he remembered them. But that matters little or nothing to him, for him this was his father's cabin, a place where he shared with the fishermen of the area, at least until "the Mapuches chased them away". In the distance, if you pay attention, you can hear a pig being killed.
